This station has just been closed. There is a large Building Site next to the station and there will be so for the next 3 years I think. However the road is still open to pedestrians. I called Boris TFL and they were useless. They have no idea when it will open or why it has been closed. They said I should contact Islington Council Highways or Planning Department but they do not have a number or contact name.
The TFL guy said that it is beyond their control and if the council tell them to shut a docking station that is what they have to do. Clearly someone at the council is concerned that bike users are going to be injured by the works but they don’t care about pedestrians or vehicles who can walk up and down freely.
