Hi folks. I apologise if this has been asked elsewhere but I’m trying to download the zip file from here:

    http://www.guardian.co.uk/news/datablog/2011/jan/07/london-cycle-hire-million-journeys

The CSV file on the tfl site gives me about 25 rows of data (from July 2010) and that’s it, which seems a bit stingy – particularly since the site suggests it contains a lot more. Has the file been discontinued and if so has anyone got a copy of the original they might be able to bung me? I want to use it in some training sessions and I’m eager to get my hands on it!

    Many thanks

The link on the guardian site is invalid – you can get the correct links on the official TfL site: http://www.tfl.gov.uk/businessandpartners/syndication/16493.aspx

Thanks, but the link on the official site points here:

    http://www.tfl.gov.uk/assets/downloads/businessandpartners/BarclaysCycleHireUsageStats.csv

…which is a 3k CSV file, with only 26 rows of data in it. TFL say it is “Details of all Barclays Cycle Hire journeys made from 31 May 2011 to 4 February 2012″ which it clearly isn’t. Any ideas?

Ah yes, almost certainly. Do you still have your 2.5m rows? I’d really appreciate a copy – I need a really big, but not really boring, dataset and most people in London can relate to the bike data.

No problem. The only difference is mine is dock availability as opposed to journeys – is that ok?

    Example:

    Code:

    Replying to @Matt’s post:

Hi Matt, I’ve just PM’d you…and I think I’ve called you Mark in that message for some reason. The mind plays tricks when dealing with TFL data!
