    I really should’ve known this, but changing gears – I’ve always been taught to shift up/down while peddling. It turns out Barclays Cycle Hire bikes use hub gears, so you need to change when you’re NOT peddling. Otherwise it shudders and jolts. Try it!

    Does anybody actually use anything lower than 3 though? lol
