A friend and I tried to hire some bikes for the first time yesterday and found it a thoroughly frustrating experience. At the advice of the TfL helpline, we tried three different terminals and after about an hour, we managed to get one release code, but not the other – the terminal (like the others) just kept saying it couldn’t process our request. After two long conversations with TfL and further numerous attempts while keeping them on the line, we gave up and just asked for the access fee to be refunded, only to be told that our case would be reviewed and after 14 days they would decide whether or not to refund us! Shockingly poor.
