I couldn’t agree more. While helping casual users satisfies my good Samaritan instincts, the system would be better if my help weren’t needed. I don’t need to help people buy tube tickets after all.
The system is far better, though I have now been struck twice by the ‘incomplete journey’ bug, where you get a green light but the system still thinks you have the bike out. I’ve complained to the help desk (as sometimes it takes hours for the on-street team to find your bike and rectify the problem) and they say it is being investigated.
